Who is Adam?
For over 20 years now, I've been privileged enough to DJ at many different venues on many formats. After growing up with a passion for music and electronics (tape decks, amplifiers, speakers, etc.), I began my career as a DJ performing at college parties and friends' weddings in the mid nineties, even DJ'd at some school dances, and a few clubs and raves, back in the day! After working for some local DJ companies, and going through the event planning process first hand with my wedding in 2002, I decided that I wanted to provide a DJ service far beyond what is normally offered as a mobile DJ. So I decided to move forward and start my own business in 2003: Adam's DJ Service! Since July of 2007, this is how I’ve made my full-time income to help feed my family and pay the bills. Several years ago, I launched a 2nd company, NW Event Lighting, a business specializing in all sorts of lighting to provide a “wow” factor at events! I also freelance as an audio, video and lighting tech for other AV companies, I lead teams for a national linen company at larger events and you might even catch me helping install vinyl artwork for a friend on another day! And due to the Covid pandemic, and a lack steady work for 2 years with the unique skills and experience I had, I got the opportunity to work for the federal government, a bank and a pharmacy. But 2022 brought back the demand and I couldn't be happier, and in 2023, Adam's AV Service was officially born!
How or Why is Adam's DJ Service different?
Even though I can be seen utilizing my DJ skills (turntable style mixing, seamless mixing in key and on beat, custom remixes and edits, etc.) at holiday parties, class reunions, corporate retreats, birthdays, trade shows, picnics and anniversaries, weddings hold a special place in my heart. The first reason weddings hold a special place in my heart is that I was recently married (now 20 years and counting!), so I know how much time and effort goes into planning the perfect day (I’ve learned a lot over the years and I continue to learn...yes, even after 2500+ weddings & events!). Weddings are the reason I started my business - after witnessing and shadowing many djs, I saw a lack of service I have always intended to provide in the market (and still do!). I will always go out of my way to do my best and make sure that your dream wedding becomes a reality! I do this by providing information to help you plan and customize the music and flow of events for your wedding, and that starts with the time I put in with my clients prior to their events; I cover all bases and make sure all steps are taken to ensure that your business transaction with me goes smoothly from beginning to end, and that includes but is not limited to planning advice, consultations, site visits and meetings. Nothing makes me happier than to see a my clients and their guests enjoy their favorite dance tunes at their events, but even when the audio sounds great, the wireless mics work flawlessly, and I was able to exceed expectations in any other way, I truly enjoy helping create successful events. Since I do this full time, many clients use me as a resource to plan their entire event, not just help with music at their event. I'm about more than just music, as I take pride in helping my clients with all production aspects of their events (Audio, Video, Lighting, Decor, etc.). If I can't do it in house, I can refer the professionals you need for your event through the relationships I've made at the many events I've been a part of and also within great organizations like the US Disc Jockey Association, NACE, ABC, ILEA, or even some local chambers of commerce and CVBs! My underground alter ego, DJ Tgro, has earned residencies at several clubs and venues throughout the years. Whether your event is in a back yard, on a boat, at the top of the Space Needle or at a fancy hotel, I can accommodate you. Whether your event has 20 people (my smallest event) or more than 2,000 people, I will always do my best for you. My uniquley professional and entertaining style as a DJ and MC has earned me many referrals and recommendations from wedding planners, venues, caterers, photographers, many other vendors and many happy clients. All I ask is for an opportunity to be of service to you and help make that special event a memory you can cherish for the rest of your days.

How is Adam different?
People always ask me what makes me different than other DJs out there, it would have to be my passion for music, people and technology! Otherwise, the unique edits and remixes I play (some I make myself!), are fun to surprise people with, my seamless mixing style utilizing the Denon DJ Engine Prime platform keeps people dancing and the personalization I try to put into every event to play relevant songs at the right times, set me apart from the rest. Not to mention, I hear I am a decent MC, too. So all I ask for is an opportunity to serve you and help you pull off a successful event.

When can we meet?
Keep in mind, I book events up to two years in advance! So it’s never too early to meet with me and see how I can help make your event a success! Please contact me today to schedule an initial chat, meeting or consultation.
Thank you for taking the time to look through my website! And please let me know if I can be of service to you.

For the gear nuts out there, here are some of the instruments/tools I have DJ'd with in my career:
I started in college with two Fisher (Sanyo) portable CD players and an Optimus Radio Shack mixer. When power was pulled at parties, and plugged back in after silence and boos on the dance floor, the song would pick back up where it left off! (thanks to the batteries in the portable CD Players)
My first official DJ setup was a Pioneer DJM-300 with two Pioneer CDJ-100s (most of my music was on CD). I added some roland midi gear and Technics SL1200 M3D Turntables - purely for experimentational purposes. I have played many hours on these with Pioneer DJM-500/600/900 mixers, Roland, Vestax, Rane, Numark and Denon Mixers, too!
After collecting many records, I still liked the precision with the CD players, especially when Pioneer came out with the CDJ 800s and 1000s. So I ran through some of those, and 800 mk2s as well before the next step.
Denon SC-5000 Prime media players and the X1800 Prime mixer are my current weapon of choice for mixing music and especially for dance floors! This combination of instruments is amazing at mixing music - allows me to be an open format DJ machine! I like the Denon Prime setup because it doesn't require a laptop and has some serious technology with making sure the music sounds awesome when sped up or slowed down. These units have processors built in and are connected via network cable to share data (songs, cue points, bpm, etc.). I can DJ on CDJ-2000s and DJM style mixers, even tried Serato, Virtual DJ, Traktor and many controllers. This setup eclipses them all, IMHO. And now I like to take out the Denon DJ Prime 4 or even the more compact Denon DJ Prime GO - DJing on a whole new level. I don't know if I'll ever be able to sell my Technics turntables and Mixars Duo (yes, I even tried out the Pioneer S-9!), because that setup keeps me grounded! (pun intended!)
I have an array of Shure microphones and capsules (SM58 / Beta 87A /KSM8 + SE V7 in the handhelds, WL185, WL184, WL183 and MX-153s for bodypacks) and have added (9) Shure QLX Digital systems to the toolbox. Their sound quality is amazing and the reliability is top notch! The wireless technolgy is solid, especially with signal distribution and directional, and amplified antennas! (And used with Wireless Workbench!) Soundcraft UI Mixers (2-24rs) are in the audio box, and are frequently the "brain centers" of my audio setups. I currently utilize (4) EV Evolve 50 speakers, (2) Bose Sub 2 subwoofers and (4) Bose S1 Pro speakers. I can also bring all the gear to a remote location and use batterys and inverters to power all the gear, without the need for noisy generators or a gas can!
Feel free to ask me about other gear, like projectors, cameras, video switchers, lighting controllers and other gear I use on a regular basis!
